Don’t you just love new people that you may have the chance to kill if you don’t like them in the long run? Yeah, I know, I’m a sick little daughter of Aphrodite so that all camp semi-meeting was a surprise when I found out my two favorite goddess’s were fighting. I was guessing it was time to work a little charm.
“Hey Chiron, can I talk to the little blonde boy?” I asked as I walked up to him.
“Okay, but he’s a little aggressive,” Chiron led me to where he was sitting, he was talking to that girl who always tends to the fire during the day. “Mike, this is Sienna, she just needs to talk to you, okay?”
“Fine, but she better make it quick,” He said.
“So. Mike, how did you get here?” I asked.
“Pegasus.” He replied simply.
“You found a Pegasus?” This kid was probably quick with stories and made it up.
“No. I own one, my mom gave it to me.” He was good.
“Your mom has a Pegasus? You’re a weird little dude, you know that right?” I said. So many questions, so little time.
“Yes, my mom. Anatasia, she caught my dad, Eros, eye by owning a little candy shop in Queens, naturally he shot her with a love arrow and she saw him fell in love with him and now I’m here. My mom had received a Pegasus from Eros for her birthday, my mom died last year, and in her will, since the Pegasus looked like a normal horse, I was given Valentine here.” A blackish red Pegasus walk up behind Mike, I’m not sure what was wrong, but something wasn’t in place.
I’m not sure how I was able to tell but Mike and Valentine weren’t like, alive, they just gave off that creepy feeling of an apparition being in front of me, but they seemed so solid. I grabbed my head band and it turned into a spear. Mike didn’t notice because he was petting Valentine, so I got up and poked him with the tip of my spear.
“OW! What the hell?” He screamed
“You don’t seem human,” I said.
“That’s because I’m not, I’m a ghost that’s in a solid form. I am Michos, Hades lets me come and go to the underworld as I please.”
“That’s wonderful… Well I’ve got to get archery, buh-bye.” I said as I got up and rushed away. That kid was creepy. Oh well, it didn’t matter, I was probably never going to have to see him again. I headed to the archery field, I was thinking about how if I got a quest I could find out how to make my mom and Artemis to stop fighting. But Chiron would never give me a quest, he said “I wasn’t ready,” that I was, “To young to be doing dangerous stuff,” I was sixteen! I wanted to do something fun for once.
“Hi Sienna,” Ryan said, he was a boy from the Hermes cabin who had a huge crush on me, I didn’t really know him though, I mean, I sparred with him sometimes but we never really talked.
“Hi Ryan, what up?”
“Not much, you on you’re way to archery? Me too! I love you outfit today,” He talked way too much, and I wasn’t even wearing anything pretty, just a t-shirt and some sweats.
“Thanks, um, Ryan, I got to go, I actually am going to talk to Chiron. Bye!” and I ran off, Ryan was nice, but I didn’t really like him. As I was running off I bumped into Tim, kid of Hades. He was actually kind of cute. Though he cut him self, which was a little weird. “Sorry.”
“No problem, where you going?” He asked.
“To talk to Chiron, I really badly want a quest.” I said, I was sure I sounded like a complete dork. I felt really stupid talking to him about it because I kind of liked him.
“So was I, maybe we could get one other person and all ask for a quest,” He wanted to go on a quest with me, he wanted to go on a quest with me! Okay, I had to calm down. Serious face.
“Really? That’s cool, who else wants to get out of this gods forbid me to say it, hell hole of a camp?” I asked.
“There’s a good few that I know want to get out of this camp for a while,” he said, “But our best chance is taking Eve or Clarity with us.”
“Hmm, what do you think? I mean Clarity more aggressive and hot headed but she’s a better fighter, though Eve has the smarts and talent, she also keeps a cool head in battle, but her skill isn’t as good.”
“Let’s go with Clarity, she took care of me and Nina for four years, longer for Alex though, poor kid…” He looked lost in thought, “Anyway, lets go ask Chiron.” His left wrist was showing a bit and he realized that I was looking at it. We started walking to the big house, he seemed a bit cautious about who saw those.
I mean he wasn’t any different from about a fifth of the camp I had seen burns and scars on wrists before, though I remember that one kid from the Hecate cabin a few months back had been drinking a funny liquid, no it was not wine, and tried to burn a Harry Potter scar into my wrist, Chiron stopped the kid before the burn got too harsh on my skin. Though no matter what I did it always stayed, so now I’m like him but with the lighting scar on my wrist.
When we got to the big house Clarity was already there talking to Chiron. “But I’m old enough! The youngest person to ever get a quest here at camp was ten, I’m thirteen!”
“I’m sorry but unless you can find two others who want to go on a quest with you, I’m afraid you can’t go.” Chiron said.
“We want to go!” I said, they both looked in my direction, even Mr. D looked up from his pinochle game to see what was going on.
“A daughter of Aphrodite, a son of Hades, and a daughter of Dionysius? Weirdest group I’ve ever seen but okay,” we all stared at him in awe, “alright then, off to the Oracle with you.”
“Which one?” Tim asked, “There’s three of us.”
“Oh, right, well, um, right. Eve!” The girl from the Athena cabin came out from the dark and into the light. She had short choppy hair, and glasses. She froze in mid-step, Chiron looked ready to catch her.
Three must venture west towards sand,
To hear the sounds of a moon light band,
Standing together strong and ready,
To make the fighting steady.
Eve fell backwards, Chiron caught her and placed her on a pile of pillows, “Good luck, and good fortune to you. There was no limit for your time, but I’m going to say be back soon. Go back to your cabins, get ready, bid your fare wells and get going.” He said
“So basically were going to be the ones stopping Artemis and Aphrodite from killing each other,” Clarity said, “Awesome. Let’s go!”
“Let’s go get our selves killed,” I said.
